Hamilton graduated from Gettysburg College, then attended graduate school in history at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a Ph.D. He then moved to St. Peters, Missouri with his wife, Christina where he got a job there at Lindenwood University They lived in St. Peters, Missouri and had two children, Thomas, born in 1993 and Jacob, born in 1997. They then moved to Newport News, Virginia where he was hired as an associate history professor at Christopher Newport University.〔http://www.mupress.org/contributorinfo.cfm?ContribID=589〕 After seven years of writing, editing, and submitting, his book was finally published, ''The Making and Unmaking of a Revolutionary Family''. Afterwards, Paul S.
